As a business owner, I'm sure you understand the impact your services have on your clients. But when did you last stop to think about their impact beyond that?
While I understand that you are not in the business of improving the whole world ...... being aware of the IMPACT you are creating beyond the work you do boosts your confidence, helps you charge for your services and stops you from underestimating yourself constantly.
Maybe you are a therapist, providing one to one sessions with clients. You are in the room with one person ..... but your time with that client has far-reaching effects beyond your session together. As a therapist for example you may support your clients with managing anxiety or stress levels in their lives.
When your client manages their day to day lives having had time to think about how they react to daily family and work situations, remember to see how your client's relationships will be affected. Also, how being able to manage stress and anxiety can be an example for others around them to imitate, so that they also can learn new ways of communicating and being in relationship.
Yes, you are in the room with one person during your sessions .... but what you offer with that one person has the potential to change the lives of so many others.
As a coach, let's say you support client to build an amazing business that is sustainable for them and their family. As you support your client to earn more, think of the ripple effect that money has on others. Your client's family have more time together with less stress and more joy.
When your client invests in themselves and their business, they hire others to help in their business. More jobs are created, more income is created for other families (and the people they invest in).
When your client invests in their business through coaching with you they invest in themselves, their family and the community around them. They give to causes that they love deep down and see the world as full of possibility rather than full of limitation. Are you just imagining how many lives are being impacted here?
Let's say you're in the business of providing informational products or Virtual Services. You probably enjoy seeing the statistics that show your clients are learning new things thanks to your content or service support. But what about what it does for them day to day? What about how it helps them get more time in their day, or feel less anxious or stressed about their work?
And then, what about how these changes might affect their partners and children at home, or their customers and clients when they're at work?
So, no matter what business or service you are providing the impact you create is far greater than you can imagine!
When you start thinking like this, it becomes clear just how far-reaching your work is and when you see the full picture, it becomes easier to feel good about what you do, and even more driven to make an impact on the world around you.
In turn, you can feel confident in charging for your services in a way that feels aligned with who you are as a person and know that you are not overcharging based on the amazing IMPACT you are making.
So in essence your work has the potential to make a real difference in the lives of all you come in contact with ...... and so many more people ..... So if you are someone who constantly discounts your pricing or feels uncomfortable asking for the investment of your service when you are on a discovery or sales call, I hope that these thoughts will remind you of the value of your work.
Whenever you feel that you are not good enough, or you feel hesitant about pricing your service, please reflect on this post and head into your calls with your potential clients with confidence and ease ..... remembering that you are making an IMPACT beyond your client you see in front of you!
